They organize many public announcements and issue warnings to house owners not to entertain anybody posing as an agent to get back your HUD Refunds. FTC has been able to identify more than three hundred such fraudulent web sites, bulk e-mail messages, and news group postings. FTC and HUD issues warnings to people to avoid paying any fees or tracing charges as these are bogus intermediaries.
